Dean Judy D. Olian believes that Anderson School “stands for a new direction in business.” UCLA’s Anderson School of Management is located in Los Angeles, California. Los Angeles is the perfect setting for studying business because it is located close to major corporations. By providing an excellent business education, Anderson develops its students into the next great leaders of the business world. Anderson’s curriculum is determined by trends in current business. This school offers specializations in accounting, entertainment, health care, global management, and investment management. First-year students are able to take on different “tracks.”  There are tracks in finance, marketing, and consulting.  There is also a custom track that allows students to be able to choose the areas of business that they wish to study.

Students can participate in the Applied Management Research (AMR) program and this allows them to be able to work on field-study projects. Students are encouraged to think about business start-ups while they are still in school. They can work on their creative and innovative business ideas through “The Business Creation Option.”  Anderson is a hub for business research and it has six academic centers. The six academic centers are the Center for Global Management, the Richard Zimmerman Center for Real Estate, Laurence and Lori Fink Center for Finance and Investments, Center for Management of Enterprise in Media, Entertainment, and Sports, Harold and Pauline Price Center for Entrepreneurship Studies, and the UCLA Anderson Forecast. During the summer, a fellowship program, known as the UCLA/Johnson & Johnson Head Start Management Fellows Program, gives students the opportunity to learn about management skills and techniques in a non-academic setting.

Students experience international business through study abroad programs in over 50 international schools associated with Anderson.  Many business students join clubs to get involved on campus. Students can join over 50 business student organizations and become involved in the larger business community. There are professional clubs and associations, such as the Entrepreneur Association and Marketing Association.  Many graduates go on to work in the fields of business and technology. Many top companies, including LiveNation Entertainment and Apple, have hired Anderson Business School graduates. UCLA Anderson has over 40,000 alumni and students are able to network with the Anderson Alumni Network.
